
The Visitor Centre is on Lockoford Lane, Chesterfield, off the A61 at the Tesco roundabout.

The Chesterfield Canal Trust now runs the Centre. It is open every day except Christmas Day.
There is lots of information plus some items of merchandise, ice creams, hot drinks, canned drinks and confectionery, and you are very welcome to come and sit, relax and chat. Please come to say Hello.
On a Tuesday each month, there are Teas on Tuesday @ Tapton, your chance to have a delicious Afternoon Tea. To book, click here.

The Centre is the embarkation point for the
John Varley ll, one of the Chesterfield Canal Trust’s passenger trip boats.
The Derbyshire County Council Countryside Service has offices upstairs in the building.
