It is a long time since the Waterside Development was first announced, but work is now well under way on the AVANT Homes site.
This is a general view with the River Rother in the foreground. The long green bank on the far side screens the site from the A61 Inner Relief Road. Chesterfield College is top mid-left and the Crooked Spire top left.
This is the new access bridge from Brimington Road that has replaced the old Lavers Bridge.
A view upstream from the new bridge. On the left is one of the houses already built on Brimington Road.
A view downstream from the bridge. The CASA hotel is top centre and you can see the floodlights at Chesterfield FC’s ProAct Stadium.
Further downstream, this is where the canal (right) splits from the Rother (left).
Here the canal is on the left, the Rother goes over a weir. You can just see the Crooked Spire top mid-right.
