Retford Heritage Day is on 14th September, with some events continuing into Sunday 15th.
As ever, a host of interesting buildings will be throwing their doors open to the public, but this year the main focus will be on the Chesterfield Canal and the town’s Industrial Heritage. Click here here to see the full programme.
Our promotional trailer, James Brindley, will be in front of Retford Little Theatre.
Our tripboat Seth Ellis will be running cruises from the Bay Tree Restaurant & Café.
John Lower will be doing a talk in Retford Library.
Alarum Theatre will be performing “Idle Women” in a free show at Retford Little Theatre.
There will be a Wandering Navvie and “Time travelling kids activities”, plus paddleboarding.
We will have Bassetlaw Museum’s “Pulling the Plug” display and further shows of Barge Art in Retford Little Theatre.
On top of all this, it will be the first day of our Walking Festival, with eight walks in the area over the weekend.
