On the Canal & River Trust section of the canal, there are slipways at West Stockwith Basin, at the terminus with the Trent, and at Shireoaks Marina.

On the currently isolated western section, there are slipways close to Tapton Lock in Chesterfield and at the new Staveley Town Basin should you wish to launch a trailboat and explore that section.
