Supporters' Meetings take place five or six times a year, usually starting at 8 p.m. All members are welcome to attend.
The dates of the next few meetings are as follows.
The Supporters' Group will meet at 8 p.m. at the at the Nether Green WMC, 90 Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, S21 1EB.
There will be a film night with two films of the canal. One made in the 1970s, including aerial shots, the other contrasting 1993 to 2015 on the section from the Western Portal of the Norwood Tunnel to St Helena's in Chesterfield.
The Supporters' Group will meet at 8 p.m. at Hollingwood Hub.
The main business will be An Evening with Dave Berry.
Dave Berry had lots of hits, such as “Little Things”, in the 1960s. He lives locally and first made contact with the Chesterfield Canal Trust whilst taking his granddaughter on a Santa Special cruise last Christmas. He was impressed by the work that their volunteers do and decided to help by doing a sponsored cycle ride along the full-length of the canal last year.
He will recount his experiences of life in the Pop Music world, including touring with bands like the Rolling Stones.
The Supporters' Group will meet at 8 p.m. at the Renishaw Social Club, 138 Main Road, Renishaw, S21 3UW.
