Chesterfield canal:

• Restoration starts at Renishaw - Volunteers from the Waterway Recovery Group kicked off the restoration project at Renishaw with a work camp running from Christmas 2006 to the New Year. The project was to clear the heavy growth of trees and bushes from the infilled canal between Renishaw and Spinkhill. They were assisted by locals and CCT volunteers. It is hoped that full-scale restoration and re-watering of a mile of canal here will commence shortly. Photos taken by Michael Chase.
