Chesterfield Walk this Way Walks up to one hour duration suitable for beginners or recovering patients, free refreshments 01246 280978. Meet Tapton Lock Visitor Centre.

New Seth Ellis crew now meet at the Nag's Head Staveley 8pm every four weeks commencing Thursday May 1st. and at the Rum Runner, Retford 8pm every four weeks commencing Thursday 15th May.
Second Wednesday of alternate months

Supporters Open Meetings to which everyone is most welcome to attend (including non-members) are held on the second Wednesday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November) beginning at 7.30 at the The Nag's Head, Chesterfield Road, Staveley, (opposite Lime Avenue). Come and meet the team - new faces are always welcome! The first meeting at the new venue is on the 8th. November.

Trace original route of the canal through Killamarsh and look out for bluebells in ancient Nor Wood

Ranby Ramble
A ramble along Chesterfield Canal linking with footpaths and countryside tracks
Start: 10 am, Ranby Village Hall, off A1 –use A620 from Worksop/Retford directions.(GR SK 649813)

WEDNESDAY 14 MAY
An evening walk from Spinkhill, including the 'Brindley Loop' section of original towpath and a look at progress with the Renishaw section restoration
Start: 7.15 pm at Spinkhill church (GR SK 454785)
4.5 miles, fairly brisk pace

SATURDAY 31 MAY
The Three Navigations Walk
This walk will link the rivers Trent and Idle with the canal and local paths
Start: 10 am, Beckingham Village Hall –off 2nd roundabout on Bawtry- Gainsborough road

WEDNESDAY 4 JUNE
A walk along the towpath and on field paths around Gringley on the Hill and Wiseton in this remote corner of Nottinghamshire
Start: 11am opposite Gringley Parish Church (GR SK 736907)
8 miles, easy pace

FRIDAY 27 JUNE
Walk by the restored section of the canal in Chesterfield and explore some little known byways of Tapton and Brimington Common
Start: 11am, Tapton Lock Vistor Centre

Retford to Clarborough on the Chesterfield Canal towpath, then by footpaths across to the River Trent to Gainsborough. Return by train

Following the success in 2007, we are repeating our 'BOATS and BOOTS' event and extending it to 2 days
There will be 10 or a dozen walks from 3 to 6 miles in length (including some new ones) and all will include a cruise on the "Seth Ellis" along the summit pound Again , look out for more details soon. Advance booking essential

Revolution Ramble

Chesterfield Canal and the River Idle
Riverside and field paths, visiting Misterton and Walkeringham along the route.

A Retford Roam
Walk includes recent access land by Woodland Trust, linking in the Cuckoo Way
